Located in a quiet residential area, the Artesia Christian Home facility exclusively houses memory care units. The building area includes an activity room, two living rooms, two dining areas, and a beauty shop.
The building follows the household model. It is designed as two separate houses connected by living areas. In each "house" the units are located around a dining space. This design eliminates the use of hallways and allows the staff to closely watch and care for the residents as soon as they exit their units. For the residents to feel more at home, smaller dining spaces with country kitchens were designed.
The facility offers two covered patios and a large garden. The garden's walkway wraps around the building, connecting both extremities. The pathway continues through the inside of the building. This feature creates a looping path, which allows for memory care patients to safely navigate the facility.
