The repositioning and renovation of Brookdale San Jose included converting existing first and second floor independent living units to RCFE assisted living and memory care units and common spaces. The central dining facility was renovated to include new finishes.
The existing building is a two-story building with a central "atrium" space. This space serves as the central gathering location for all residents and connects both East and West buildings. With the addition of a link at the North, the East and West buildings are now connected at that point as well.
Cozy country kitchens and dining spaces for assisted living and memory care residents provide a familiar, homelike environment. An elegantly designed bar and pub in the central atrium space features new built-ins with display areas and wall-mounted televisions. Residents can also enjoy a number of activities including fitness classes and group outings.
