Shea Health Center is a new prototypical Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) model based upon the household concept. The building has two stories with three households and common spaces on each floor. The model was designed to be built in California.
Both stories have a similar household layout with two 24-bed households and one 17-bed household. Each household is connected to a common area or great room with a short corridor for the convenience of the residents. Residents would have access to a resident kitchen, living room and dining area. Nursing spaces are removed from the experience of the resident.
All units are equipped with cabinetry specially designed for a wireless charting/tablet sync center with storage for medical records, prescription medication and personal supply. A private toilet room with a shared showering room divides the units. A therapy room supports both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation.
