Congratulations for delivering the beautiful new Grove building at the Terraces at San Joaquin Gardens! I truly appreciate the efforts that everyone contributed to keep the project on track and for the high-quality memory support neighborhood that ABHOW will be delivering to our residents and, in fact, to the entire city. The Quiring team did an awesome job at bringing the project in months early. That was quite an accomplishment! DPA, you have done a great job in providing high quality design that members of the ABHOW team are already speaking of with great pride. Thanks again! This project reinforced the need to foster the partnerships we have with our clients and customers. We tend to fall into the trap of 'that's how it's always been done,' and when a new idea or way providing quality health care is presented, like any change, we tend to resist first until we can sit back and absorb the big picture. Once presented to our staff, your health care model and building design was immediately recognized as a superior way to treat humans. I had the pleasure of working with Doug Pancake to resolve the fire clearance crisis that mislabeled many California Assisted Living residents as "bedridden" and put seniors at risk of unnecessary eviction. Doug provided vital architectural and building code expertise, which coupled with his unassuming yet persistent communication style, enabled us to reach consensus with the OSFM and local fire marshals on rational building standards for Assisted Living residents. I highly value Doug's expertise, creativity, and solution-oriented focus, and continue to be impressed by his commitment to senior housing.
